Hotel Website Redesign Based on UX Analysis: A Proposal for Usability Improvement

This bachelor's thesis deals with the redesign proposal of the Hotel Lužnice website with the aim of identifying barriers and proposing a solution to improve user experience (UX) and interface usability. The theoretical part summarizes the key principles of user-centered design, cognitive psychology, and standardized usability heuristics. The practical part is based on a combination of qualitative user testing of the current website using the think-aloud method (on a sample of five respondents) and a simplified expert evaluation conducted by the author. Based on the qualitative analysis of the collected data, recurring usability barriers were identified, such as unintuitive information architecture, low content scannability, and shortcomings in the booking process. The main output of the thesis is the design of an interactive prototype in Figma, which methodically responds to the identified problems. The proposed solution presents modifications for simplifying navigation, visually hierarchizing information, and facilitating progression through the booking flow. Although the proposal is based on empirical data and reflects the presumed business goals of the hotel, the effectiveness of the final prototype was not user-validated within the scope of this thesis and thus represents a design assumption for future testing.
