Exports of Selected Agricultural Commodities from Ukraine to the European Union Since 2010

This bachelor's thesis examines the development of exports of selected agricultural commodities from Ukraine to the European Union between 2010 and 2023. It focuses primarily on cereals and vegetable oils, which have long been among the most important products of Ukraine's agricultural exports. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the development and structure of these exports and to identify the main factors that influenced them during the analysed period. The first part of the thesis presents the theoretical background related to the specific characteristics of agricultural trade, the European Union's trade policy, and the development of trade relations between the European Union and Ukraine. The second part analyses the development of exports of cereals and vegetable oils to the European Union, changes in the geographical structure of exports, and the factors affecting the competitiveness of Ukrainian agricultural commodities. The final part focuses on the main trade barriers, particularly tariff and non-tariff measures, and illustrates their impact on the export of Ukrainian agricultural products through specific examples. The analysis confirms that the importance of the European Union as a destination for Ukrainian agricultural exports increased significantly during the analysed period, particularly after 2022. At the same time, the findings show that the further development of exports depends not only on Ukraine's production capacity but also on the European Union's trade policy, regulatory requirements, and changes in logistics caused by the war.
