| Abstract: | Generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) reached early-stage founders as consumer tools, available at low cost from the first day of a venture. How founders integrate these tools into their reasoning, and what this integration does to their experience of uncertainty, has not been documented empirically. This thesis examines both questions through the lens of effectuation. Eleven founders of early-stage ventures, all using Gen AI strategically, were interviewed in semi-structured form, and the material was analyzed with the Gioia methodology: 227 codes were consolidated into 77 first-order concepts, 18 second-order themes, and five aggregate dimensions, guided by a Gen AI-augmented effectuation framework held as a sensitizing lens. Four dimensions were supported with qualifications. The means set grew, partly through systems the founders built for themselves. Evaluation widened but remained means-directed. Responses to the unexpected accelerated, and so did the environment producing the unexpected. Information became abundant, and its value depended on the founders’ own verification. The fifth dimension inverted: instead of blurring into the machine, the founders maintained the boundary deliberately. Uncertainty was relocated rather than removed. The reasoning remained effectual. Gen AI augmented the logic without converting it into causal planning. |

| Abstract: | Generativní umělá inteligence (Gen AI) se k zakladatelům start-upů v rané fázi dostala v podobě nástrojů pro spotřebitele, které jsou k dispozici za nízkou cenu již od prvního dne existence podniku. Jak zakladatelé tyto nástroje začleňují do svého uvažování a jaký vliv má tato integrace na jejich prožívání nejistoty, dosud nebylo empiricky zdokumentováno. Tato práce zkoumá obě otázky z pohledu teorie efektuace. Bylo provedeno polostrukturované rozhovory s jedenácti zakladateli podniků v rané fázi, kteří všichni strategicky využívají Gen AI, a získaný materiál byl analyzován pomocí Gioiovy metodologie: 227 kódů bylo konsolidováno do 77 konceptů prvního řádu, 18 témat druhého řádu a pěti souhrnných dimenzí, a to na základě rámce efektuace rozšířeného o Gen AI, který sloužil jako senzibilizační optika. Čtyři dimenze byly podpořeny upřesňujícími poznámkami. Rozsah prostředků se rozšířil, částečně díky systémům, které si zakladatelé sami vybudovali. Hodnocení se rozšířilo, ale zůstalo zaměřeno na prostředky. Reakce na neočekávané události se zrychlily, stejně jako prostředí, které tyto neočekávané události vytvářelo. Informace se staly hojnými a jejich hodnota závisela na vlastním ověření ze strany zakladatelů. Pátá dimenze se obrátila: namísto splynutí se strojem zakladatelé záměrně udržovali hranici. Nejistota byla spíše přemístěna než odstraněna. Uvažování zůstalo efektivní. Gen AI rozšířila logiku, aniž by ji přeměnila v kauzální plánování. |
