| Abstract: | Práce popisuje vývoj cen ropy na světových trzích od roku 1869 až do současnosti. Zabývá se faktory mající vliv na výkyvy v cenách ropy v pěti historických etapách. Dále srovnává vývoj cen ropy WTI, Brent a ropného koše OPECu. Práce také charakterizuje dopady zvýšených cen na ekonomiky. Nejdříve se zabývá dopadem na importéry a exportéry obecně, dále zkoumá vliv na Spojené státy americké. Část práce je věnována také finančním účinkům změn v ropných cenách. |

| Abstract: | The thesis describes the evolution of crude oil prices on the world markets since 1896 till present. It deals with the factors having influence on the fluctuations in oil prices in five historical periods. It also compares the prices of different types of oil: WTI, Brent and the OPEC's oil basket. Furthermore it characterize the impact of oil price changes on the economies. First it describes the impact on importers and exporters in general, then it examines the influence on the United States of America. The thesis partially focus on the financial impacts of oil price changes. |
