Abstrakt:
This thesis examines the factors influencing cost efficiency and scalability in CCS infrastructure and investigates how the industry can progress towards commercial self-sustaining. Particular attention is given to the role of maritime CO₂ transport and its potential to reduce investment risk during the development of emerging CCS markets. The study combines economic analysis, case study analysis, document analysis, and an expert interview, with Northern Lights serving as the principal case. Northern Lights provides a relevant example of how shared transport and storage infrastructure can connect multiple CO₂ emitters with permanent offshore storage and facilitate the development of a broader CCS value chain.
Klíčová slova: Self-sustaining; Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS); Maritime Transportation
