The theoretical part of the thesis concentrates on typological classification of authoritarian regime based on the modern political theory. The analytical part of the thesis focuses on economic reforms made by Salvador Allende and Augusto Pinochet and try to compare their macroecenomic development. My aim is to confirm the hypothesis, in which I argue that the regime of Augusto Pinochet had more positive effects on the economic policy and the economic growth than the regime of Salvador Allende. I found that economic policy of Augusto Pinochet helped to avert economic collapse and started the long term growth. The aim of this thesis is to present a compact view of what impacts an economy of market concepts with emphasis on the case of Augusto Pinochet, who is a neoliberalist and Salvador Allende, who is a socialist. |
