The underground is generally described as a type of public transport in the theoretical part of the Thesis. Its historical development in Prague is also analyzed, as well as the current state of Prague subway network, respectively individual lines that are currently in operation. Part of the work is also devoted to vehicle fleet of Dopravní podnik and to the strengths and weaknesses of the subway. The practical part deals with the future expansion of the subway. The work focuses here on two main aspects of the Prague subway development - the extension of the line A to Motol and a new route D. In relation to the west extension of Line A, the work deals with the possibility of connecting Prague airport to the city center. Regarding Route D, the work compares different variants of the proposed routing and presents their advantages and disadvantages. The work also shows the importance and benefits of this line for passengers and Prague in general, specifies individual stations, establishes which technical and quality requirements should be met and also tries to find a suitable method of funding the project. |
