The theoretical part of the thesis analyses the labour market with its specifics, as well as the equality and discrimination of women not only in the Czech Republic. Feminist and neoclassical theories are used to demonstrate the reasons for the different perceptions of men and women, and preference theory shows what types of women can be encountered on the labour market. In the practical part, the Pardubice Region is analysed using macroeconomic indicators such as employment, economic activity, or wage characteristics. It is supplemented by the characteristics of the researched area and its efforts to improve the position of women in the territory. The practical part concludes that both the Pardubice region and the entire Czech Republic still face serious gender inequality. However, support for their removal is effective and employment, economic activity and wage differences have a positive tendency. A partial contribution is an insight into the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the labour market in the Pardubice Region, which has slowed down the favourable development. |
