Návrhy na zlepšení mexického penzijního systému na základě komparativní analýzy Chile a Nizozemska (2025)

This thesis focuses on the Mexican pension system with emphasis on its long-term adequacy and financial sustainability. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the Mexican pension system through comparison with the pension systems of Chile and the Netherlands and, on this basis, formulate reform recommendations for the Mexican system. The theoretical part is based on a literature review of social security and pension systems. The analytical part compares pension-system structures, financing mechanisms, replacement rates, investment regulation and governance frameworks. The analysis demonstrates that the Mexican pension system continues to face challenges associated with limited participation in contributory schemes, institutional fragmentation and relatively low expected pension outcomes for part of the population. On the basis of the comparative analysis, the thesis formulates structural, parametric and institutional reform recommendations aimed at strengthening the long-term adequacy, transparency and sustainability of the system. The contribution of the thesis lies in combining comparative pension analysis with reform recommendations adapted to the Mexican context.
