The bachelor's thesis is focused on the analysis of demographic changes in family behavior of the population of the Czech Republic in the period 1945-2012. The first part defines the basic terms, which are further explored, describes the historical development of the family and divides the European families into two basic types according to the method of formation and function. The analytical part of this thesis graphically illustrates and describes the trends of indicators that reflect the development of fertility, abortion, marriage and divorce. Demographic behavior is compared with the period before and after year 1989 when the changes were the largest and their major trends are explained in the context of political, social, legislative and economic situation in the territory of today's Czech Republic. The last part describes the most important implications of changes in family behavior of the population of the Czech Republic and offers a view of the expected future development.
