This Master thesis focuses on technological support of the collection department’s business activities in a consumer lending company. It uses a real company’s data to design a data mart solution for a collection department, which would make the reporting process faster and more efficient as well as to allow further data analyses. These are essential preconditions for ma-naging a process of debt collection. In the model company there is a long-lasting problem with business requirements definition and their transfer to IT terms, for example by use of models and documentation in such way, that it contains all necessities of business and takes into account IT capabilities and context as well. In this thesis the author plays a role of an intermediary – in practice often represented by a business consultant – who thanks to a deep analysis of company’s reports and process defines business requirements. These findings are later transformed into a data mart solution design with use of principles of dimensional modelling. For the reasons stemming from the theory of dimensional modelling, the outputs are conceptual and logical models, including a preliminary source-to-target mapping for ETL.The contribution of this Master thesis is a solution, which in case of implementation will all-ow the company to report in more detailed way, faster and to cover areas which have been left out so far. This means that the company would gain more insight into the process and thus gain more control over it, while saving company’s resources at the same time. Although the model company has its specifics, the proposed solution is scalable and transferable on a conceptual level and it may bring benefits to other consumer lenders as well.
