Abstrakt:
This thesis focuses on the issue of digital diplomacy, which is part of public diplomacy. It is a modern discipline that is linked with the use of online (internet) media and tools. Digital technologies enable the rapid transfer of large volumes of data and the potential impact of a wide audience. This paper is mostly focused on the use of online media for the purposes of nation branding – the creation and management of the brand (image) of the state, especially abroad. The state can be promoted in the online environment in many ways that will be described in the work. The main example of using online media for national branding is national portals in this work. Three examples of a well-functioning national portal are described, outlining the criteria for their evaluation. These criteria are then used to evaluate the quality and functionality of the Czech national portal Czech.cz. The aim of the thesis is to set recommendations for its improvement.
