Abstrakt: | The primary objective of this study was to investigate specific recovery and vacation patterns of managers and compare them to work-life balance and well-being factors. Most papers are centered on employee well-being, hence the present research’s focus on the managerial category. One company in the Czech Republic was chosen because of its particular interest in the topic, and its managers represented the target population. A mixed methodology technique was utilized, combining both quantitative and qualitative data analysis through an online survey and in-depth interviews, respectively. The results showed that managers are mostly balanced and self-aware, with an efficient strategy of medium to long vacations, twice a year and in nearby countries. Affiliation, relaxation in nature, detachment from work, and an active lifestyle were also found to be highly relevant. However, some issues, such as work during vacation, high workload upon return and insufficient daily personal time have been discovered and concrete suggestions have been given. |
