Lekce z boje s korupcí: komparativní studie České republiky a Gruzie

The fight against corruption is the common theme of political scientists, journalists or statesmen. Georgia's anti-corruption crusade made headlines for its success in the range of petty corruption mitigation and state-wide transformation towards the ruthlessly efficient state apparatus. Examination of Georgia's transformation and comparison with the Czech Republic allowed for the careful analysis of the differences in anti-corruption strategies and revelation of the key elements of successful transformation. The common problems associated with corruption are introduced to point at the similarities among corrupt nations and emphasize the shared negative consequences. The historical development of corruption in Georgia and Czech Republic is examined to introduce and explain the current perceived level of corruption in these states. Following important milestones in the last twenty years of countries' history, the similar track towards the transition to democracy between these two countries is presented to tap into the aspects of shared development. In addition to that, the integrity of civil governance sectors is assessed to point at the strengths and weaknesses of the countries. Finally, the key reforms are identified and introduced to both Georgia and Czech Republic based on their positive impacts in the respective countries.
