The indicators of the reported crime rates, the clearance rates and the average damage are analyzed. In the analyzed period there was a decrease in the reported crime rates and an increase in the clearance rates. In 2021, 50 915 crimes with the clearance rate of 59,5 % are reported in Slovakia. Property crimes are the most common type of crimes with the lowest clearance rate. Economic crimes have the highest influence on the average damage, which has the average of € 32,951. At the same time, economic crimes have the second lowest clearance rate, and in 2021 they even had the lowest one. The highest crime rates are in the Bratislava region and the lowest ones in the Prešov region. On the contrary, the clearance rates are the highest in the Prešov region and the lowest ones in the Bratislava region. The average damage in all regions, except the region of Banská Bystrica, is growing absolutely and relatively. From the perspective of the crime structure in the regions, the biggest differences are in the clearance rates and the greatest fluctuations are in the average damage in economic crimes. The monthly time series analysis confirms presence of seasonality, and a seasonal dependency of the reported crime rates and of the clearance rates have been determined thanks to that. The diploma thesis examines crime with the help of important indicators, while providing an overview of the development of the crime rates per crime type in the Slovak Republic and the regions. |
