Kulturní infrastruktura Vršovic

This bachelor’s thesis is focused on mapping the cultural infrastructure of the Prague urban district – Vršovice, with an emphasis on the balance and use of space and the perception of the area through the eyes of the residents living there. The thesis defines the territory of Vršovice, its history and deals with the issue of the absence of spaces with cultural use, or, on the contrary, a significant number of abandoned industrial buildings, some of former cultural use. The aim of this work is to look into the current cultural scene of the city district and find out the local residents point of view on the current situation of cultural background. The theoretical part is generally devoted to the definition of the territorial unit as such and the mapping of alredy existing and often threatened cultural institutions. The practical part is devoted to a case study, which processes the views of residents on the balance of space and the quality of cultural enjoyment in the investigated territorial unit. The thesis also includes interviewa conducted with respondents who are actively interested in the investigated part of the city. The output of this thesis is an analysis of the information obtained regarding the investigated issue and the authors subsequent recommentations supported by the research analysis.
