Abstract:

Abstract:
This thesis on "Occupational accident insurance" evaluates, based on analysis and comparison with foreign countries, the principle of functioning of the occupational accident insurance in Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary. In addition to the description of each system are briefly presented the history of occupational accident insurance in the Czech republic (specifically since the end of the 19th century till today) and the statistic of work accidents in Czechia which have been declining in the past few years. The principles of the operation of occupational accident insurance in the studied countries are significantly different; while in Czechia it is a commercial insurance operated by two insurance companies, in Slovakia is the insurance fully implemented into social insurance, moreover without the need of major financial interventions by the state. In Hungary it is a "hybrid" model where the compensations are partly paid through the general health insurance and above this limit are compensated by the employer.
