User Interface Design for a Mobile Tutoring Management Application Using a User-Centered Design Approach

The aim of this thesis is to design and test a prototype mobile application for tutoring management using user-centered design (UCD) methodology. The design of the mobile application user interface for tutoring is created using the UCD methodology, which emphasizes user involvement and iterative design improvement. First, an analysis of competitive solutions and target group needs is conducted through in-depth interviews. Based on the findings, personas and user journeys are created, which serve as the basis for designing the information architecture using the card sorting method. Subsequently, an interactive high-fidelity prototype is created, which is verified through usability testing. Based on the insights gathered during the analysis phase, personas and user journeys are created to inform the design of the information architecture using the card sorting method. Subsequently, a low-fidelity prototype is developed and first evaluated through a heuristic evaluation conducted by the author, followed by usability testing with representative users. Based on the identified usability issues and user feedback, the design is refined and further developed into a high-fidelity prototype. The high-fidelity prototype then undergoes an additional round of usability testing, including an assessment of perceived usability using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. The result is an interactive prototype of a mobile application that verifies the functionality and usability of the proposed solution. The proposed solution can serve as a basis for the implementation of the final application.
