Abstract:

Abstract:
This Master’s Thesis focuses on stress management strategies among restaurant workers. The aim of the thesis is to identify which coping strategies restaurant workers use. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with seven restaurant workers, and the data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that the choice of coping strategy depends primarily on the nature of the stressful situation and the extent to which it can be influenced. During shifts, workers mainly used strategies such as active problem solving, self-regulation, communication and social support from colleagues, or brief withdrawal from the stressful situation. After their shifts, respondents mainly used rest or physical activity. The findings indicate that stress management is situational in nature and also show that the social environment is an important part of coping in restaurant work.
