| Abstract: | Diplomová práce zachycuje vývoj katastrofických událostí a jejich vliv na pojistný trh. Zabývá se charakteristikou a členěním pojmu katastrofa, který nabývá na svém významu právě v pojišťovnictví i zajišťovnictví, a podrobně identifikuje katastrofy přírodní a katastrofy způsobené lidským činitelem. Práce dále shrnuje události katastrofického rozsahu v roce 2008, významné události před tímto datem a katastrofy na území České republiky. Na katastrofy je nahlíženo z různých úhlů pohledu, z nichž jako nejvýznamnější se ukazuje výše pojištěných škod. Vysvětlení trendu ve vývoji katastrof a jejich důsledků se stává jádrem práce. Hledání nástrojů ke krytí katastrofických škod je spojeno s narůstající finanční náročností katastrof jak pro jedince, tak i pro pojišťovny a zajišťovny. |

| Abstract: | Thesis shows progression of catastrophic events and their influence on insurance market. Insurance and reinsurance are connected to conception of catastrophes and therefore it is necessary that this thesis firstly presents key features and classification of notion catastrophe itself. For understanding of the notion is important to differentiate between nature and manmade disasters. Next part summarizes large-scale events in 2008, significant events in the past and disasters in Czech Republic. Catastrophic events are analyzed from various angles, but the most important one seems to be insured losses volume. The core of the thesis is concerned with explanation of the disaster trend and its consequences. Key problem of disaster insurance is connected to the question, how to cover catastrophic losses for both, individuals and insurance companies. |
