Abstract:
Abstract This thesis is focused on taxi service, which is one of the most regulated services in a modern society. State intervenes into this branch not only by barriers of entry but also by price regulation. I try to take a think if the state intervention is the best solution for its effective function. As the theoretical ground of my investigation I used the general theories of regulation and findings of foreign studies that deal with this market. As the specific example I used the market of taxi service in Prague, which has not been enjoying a good reputation. I try to map its situation and judge the regulation imposed on it. I target the price regulation which has been established since 1991. I sketch the main impacts of price deregulation and the other solution of contemporary situation.
