Abstract: | My bachelor thesis focuses on the socio-economical aspects of the development of suburban areas, especially of the recently developed suburbs around bigger cities. This phenomenon (suburbanization) will be investigated in terms of assumtions and incentives on its participants side, but primarily in terms of its impacts. According to the fact that some of the impacts are generally considered as negative, the question is whether it is appropriate to intervene in this process. The aim of this thesis is to find an answer to the question: Is it possible or even appropriate to allow the process of suburbanization to develop without intereventions and if not, how much interevention needed? This thesis will be based on both the studies and surveys from the Czech Republic and observations from the United States where suburbanization has progressed more rapidly. |
