| Abstract: | Účelem této práce je podat informace o období v Iráku, jež následovalo po druhé válce v Perském zálivu, a to především z pohledu Spojených států amerických. Práce v první části pojednává o motivech, jež Spojené státy vedly do války a rovněž připomíná historické souvislosti Saddámova režimu. Ve druhé části se zabývá již poválečnou situací, strategií USA pro obnovu Iráku z ekonomického, politického a bezpečnostního pohledu a v poslední řadě se snaží identifikovat bezpečnostní hrozby a rizika. V závěru se částečně věnuje postojům Baracka Obamy a perspektivě dalšího možného vývoje. |

| Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is to provide information on the period of time in Iraq after the second war in the Persian Gulf, especially from the United states' point of view. In the first part besides dealing with the motives that led United states to the war, the paper also mentions historical events during Saddam's regime. In the second part it descibes the after-war situation, US strategy for the economic, political and security reconstruction and ultimately it seeks to identify security threats and risks. In conclusion, it partly analyzes Barack Obama's attitudes towards Iraqi war and the perspective of the future potential development. |
