| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá povstáním Zapatistů v mexickém Chiapasu od roku 1994 a jejím cílem je zhodnotit úspěšnost celého povstání. Nejprve se práce soustředí na východiska pro formování povstání v podobě klíčových událostí z mexických dějin. Dále chronologicky popisuje průběh povstání, přičemž klade důraz na ozbrojené akce Zapatistů, na jejich nevojenské aktivity a na mírová jednání s vládou. V poslední kapitole práce poskytuje hlubší rozbor různých aspektů povstání, a to v podobě analýzy struktury, vzniku a členů, analýzy ideologie, požadavků a cílů a konečně analýzy použitých prostředků boje, kde je vyzdvižena především úloha médií. Výsledné zhodnocení úspěšnosti je rozděleno na mexickou, celosvětovou a teoretickou rovinu. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis deals with the Zapatista rebellion in Mexican Chiapas from the year 1994 and its main aim is to evaluate the achievements of the whole rebellion. Firstly, the thesis concentrates on the bases for the formation of the rebellion by studying crucial events from Mexican history. Furthermore, it describes the course of the rebellion in chronological sequence and it lays stress on the armed actions of the Zapatista, their non-military activities and peace negotiations with the government. In the last chapter, the thesis presents a deeper analysis of different aspects of the rebellion by the means of the analysis of structure, origin and members; the analysis of ideology, demands and aims and finally the analysis of means of struggle where the role of media is highlighted above all. The final evaluation of the achievements is devided into Mexican, global and theoretical level. |
