| Abstract: | V první kapitole práce popisuje současný stav ekonomiky Velké Británie pomocí vybraných ekonomických a strukturálních ukazatelů. Část první kapitoly se věnuje populačním trendům. Druhá kapitola krátce shrnuje historický vývoj regionální diferenciace a ukazuje na současné regionální rozdíly. Zmiňuje se o pomoci strukturálních fondů EU. Třetí kapitola je věnována Severozápadní Anglie, jejím ekonomickým a sociálním problémům a regeneračnímu procesu. |

| Abstract: | The first chapter of the work describes the current state of the economy of Great Britain using selected economic and structural indicators. Part of this chapter is devoted to population trends. The second chapter summarises briefly the historical development of regional differentiation and shows contemporary regional differences; it also talks about the EU structural funds aid. The third chapter focuses on North West England, the economic and social problems of the region and the regeneration process there. |
