| Abstract: | Práce nejprve popisuje politickoekonomickou situaci v regionu Latinské Ameriky s důrazem na ekonomický vývoj regionu v posledních letech a specifické socioekonomické jevy společné pro většinu místních zemí. V druhé části je pak věnována pozornost obecným vlivům činností transnacionálních korporací na hostitelské ekonomiky. Tyto vlivy jsou následně přiblíženy na konkrétních příkladech latinskoamerických ekonomik. Třetí kapitola má formu případové studie, rozebírající roli transnacionálních korporací v ekonomickém vývoji Argentiny, především pak v době argentinské dlužnické krize (1999-2002). |

| Abstract: | Initially, the work describes the political and economical situation in the Latin American region with emphasis on the recent economic development of the region and the socioeconomic phenomena common for most local economies. The second part focuses on the general effects that transnational corporations' activities have on host economies. These effects are then demonstrated on concrete examples of Latin American countries. The third chapter has the form of a case study that deals with the role of transnational corporations during the economic development of Argentina with a stress on its last financial crisis (1999-2002). |
