| Abstract: | Práce zkoumá jak velký je vliv etnicity na fungování jednotlivých států a do jaké míry je etnická diversita ovlivněna institucemi. Etnika, která jsou typická zejména pro africký svět, mohou ovlivňovat téměř všechny sféry života, zájmovými skupinami počínaje a konflikty či genocidou konče. Důležitou roli na vliv etnicity mají instituce. Správné nastavení institucí (jako pravidel hry) může velice zmírnit negativní dopady etnické rozmanitosti. Etnicita může být také zpolitizována a zneužita jako tomu bylo například v Rwandě. Dobré nastavení institucí a hospodářské politiky stojí za příznivým vývojem Tanzanie, která je všeobecně považována za jednu z nejvíce etnicky rozmanitých zemí. Naopak Keňa, se v poslední době potýká s etnickými problémy, které se jí zatím nedaří vyřešit. Práce ukazuje, jak etnicita spolu s institucemi může pozitivně i negativně ovlivňovat státy a jejich ekonomiky. |

| Abstract: | This work examines how strong is the influence of etnhnicity on the states funcitioning and to what degrese is etnicity influeced by institution. Etnicity, which is typical especially in African world, can affect almost all spheres of life starting with interest group and ending with ethnic conlfict and genocid. Importand role to the ethnicity influence play institutions. Good institutions setting (I mean institutions like a rules of the game) can mitigate the negative effects of ethnic diversification. Ethnicity can also be politicized and misused like in Rwanda. Good institutions setting and economic policy stay behind the positiv progression of Tanzania, which is widely considered as one of the most ethnically diverse country. On the contrary Kenya recently battle with ethnic problems, which are very dificult to resolve. This work shows how ethnicity in conjuction with institutions can negatively or positively influence states and their economics. |
