| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce analyzuje roli J.F. Kennedyho v kubánské raketové krizi v říjnu 1962. Právě nukleární zbraně, kterými disponovaly jak SSSR, tak i USA, učinily eskalující krizi v Karibiku tolik nebezpečnou. Cílem této bakalářské práce je ukázat, zda americký prezident rozhodoval racionálně, zda zvažoval všechny možné důsledky a zda si přál zachovat americkou prestiž supervelmoci. Také budu analyzovat způsob, jakým se rozhodl vyřešit krizi, která se ukázala býti nejnebezpečnější krizí po skončení druhé světové války. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis analyzes the role of John F. Kennedy in Cuban missile crisis in October 1962. It was nuclear weapons owned both by Soviet Union and by the US that made the escalating crisis in Caribbean so extraordinarily dangerous. The aim of my diploma thesis is to show if the American President made decisions rationally, if he considered all the possible consequences and wished to maintain the American prestige of the superpower. I will also analyze the way he decided to solve the crisis that turned out to be the most dangerous crisis after the end of World War II. |
