| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá porušováním lidských práv u zajatců na americké námořní základně Guantánamo na Kubě. Hlavním cílem prácem je nalézt příčiny, které vedly k současné situaci a dále pak možnosti pro její vyřešení. Práce nejprve vytyčuje mezinárodně právní rámec problému. Představuje jak dokumenty, které nejvíce ovlivnily zacházení s válečnými zajatci na mezinárodní úrovni, tak i mezinárodní smlouvy týkající se lidských práv. Práce pak analyzuje vývoj Guantánama za vlády prezidenta G. W. Bushe, změny, které nastaly po nástupu prezidenta Obamy a snaží se nastínit možná řešení situace. |

| Abstract: | Bachelor thesis is concerned with the violation of human rights in the detention facility at the U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo, Cuba. The main objective is to find the causes that have led to the current situation there and further to find possible solutions. In the first place the thesis lays out the legal framework. The most important documents that have influenced handling prisoners of war as well as treaties relating to the human rights are presented. The development of Guantanamo base under President G. W. Bush and the changes that have been introduced by President Obama are analysed and possible solutions outlined. |
