| Abstract: | Investment climate in Lithuania is attractive and adverse at the same time. Since Lithuania declared its independence in 1990, it started a reform process from centralized economy and political system towards free market focusing on adjusting the policies and attracting more foreign investment. Therefore the thesis analyses how Lithuania was developing concerning its macroeconomic, political and legal as well as social, cultural and technological aspects. The assessment of Lithuania's investment climate in respect to these factors is the main objective of the thesis. So, to a large extent, Lithuania as a country is firstly positioned in a favourable geographical location by the Baltic Sea and offers investors good infrastructure, diversified economy, investment laws that conform to EU standards, low corporate profit tax, well educated and considerably cheap labour force as well as stable democratic government, however, the thesis reveals that it does not outweigh shortcomings that eventually seem to be more investment influential. Therefore the thesis also contains recommendations and suggestions for investment climate in Lithuania improvement towards building stronger, more reliable and attractive environment for foreign investors. |

| Abstract: | Investiční klima v Litvě je atraktivní a nežádoucí současně. Vzhledem k tomu, Litva vyhlásila svoji samostatnost v roce 1990, začala reformní proces od centralizovaného hospodářství a politického systému směrem k volného trhu se zaměřením na přizpůsobení politiky. Cílem rovněž bylo přilákat více zahraničních investic. Proto práce analyzuje, jak se Litva rozvíjela v oblasti makroekonomické, politické a právní, jakož i sociální, kulturní a technologické. Posouzení investičního klimatu Litvy ve vztahu k těmto faktorům je hlavním cílem této práce. Litva v prvé řadě disponuje příznivou polohu v Baltském moři a nabízí investorům dobrou infrastrukturou, diverzifikovanou ekonomiku, zákony týkající se investic, které odpovídají normám EU, nízké daně ze zisku právníckých osob, dobře vzdělanou a značně levnou pracovní sílu a stabilní demokratickou vládu. Nicméně, práce ukazuje, že nepřevládají nedostatky, které mají zjevně silný vliv na investice. Proto práce obsahuje také doporučení a návrhy na zlepšení investičního prostředí v Litvě tak, aby mohlo být budováno kvalitnější, spolehlivější a atraktivnější prostředí pro zahraniční investory. |
