| Abstract: | Tato práce analyzuje současnou pozici amerického dolaru ve světové ekonomice. První kapitola je zaměřena na historický vývoj postavení dolaru na pozadí vývoje celého mezinárodního měnového systému. Hlavní část práce je zaměřena na současné postavení dolaru, které je zkoumáno na třech základních funkcích měny - uchovatel hodnoty, zúčtovací jednotka a prostředek směny. Poslední kapitola práce pojednává o možných scénářích budoucího vývoje postavení dolaru. |

| Abstract: | This thesis analyzes the current position of the U.S. dollar in the global economy. The first chapter focuses on the historical evolution of the position of the dollar against the background of the development of the whole international monetary system. The main part is focused on the current status of the dollar, which is examined on three fundamental functions of money - a store of value, unit of account and medium of exchange. The last chapter deals with possible scenario for the future status of the dollar. |
