| Abstract: | Slovinsko získalo svou nezávislost na Jugoslávii v roce 1991. Jeho hlavním cílem bylo stát se členem Evropské unie, což se mu v roce 2004 podařilo. Jako první z nových zemí EU přijalo 1. ledna 2007 euro jako svou oficiální měnu. Stejně tak bylo prvním z nových členských států, který předsedal Radě Evropské unie. Cílem mé práce je popsat ekonomický vývoj Slovinska (jak v rámci Jugoslávie, tak i po osamostatnění), specifika přístupových jednání k EU a náležitosti přístupové smlouvy. Součástí je také případová studie společnosti Gorenje Group, jejíž sídlo se nachází právě ve Slovinsku. Gorenje se dá uvést jako úspěšný příklad expanze slovinské firmy na vnitřní trh EU. |

| Abstract: | Slovenia gained its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. Its main goal was to become a member of the European Union, which was achieved in 2004. As the first of the new member countries it adopted the euro as its currency on 1 January 2007 and in the first half of 2008, Slovenia held the Presidency of the EU. The aim of this work is to describe the economic development of Slovenia (both as a part of Yugoslavia and after gaining its independence), specifics of accession negotiations with the EU and conditions of the Treaty of Accession. The work also includes the case study of Slovenian firm Gorenje Group. This company can be given as an example of successful expansion of Slovenian firm in the EU internal market. |
