| Abstract: | Práce pojednává o vlivu západního společenství na vývoj Rwandy. Težištěm je vývoj zhruba od osmdesátých let do současnosti, v prvních kapitolách je však z důvodů úplného pochopení všech souvislostí krátce zahrnuto i období předkoloniální a koloniální. Práce se zaměřuje především na jednání hlavních západních mocností, tedy Francie, Velké Británie a Spojených států amerických, které v případě Rwandy doplňuje Belgie. Z jiných mezinárodních aktérů je rozebírán vliv OSN, dalších mezinárodních vládních i nevládních organizací a transnacionálních korporací. |

| Abstract: | This thesis deals with the influence of the West on Rwanda. The main focus is on the recent development, from eighties up to now. In order to ensure full comprehension of all related events, there is a brief description of the pre-colonial and colonial era in the first chapter. The thesis focuses mainly on the behaviour of main western powers -- France, Great Britain and the United States of America, they are complemented by Belgium which plays an important role in the case of Rwanda. The thesis also deals with the influence of other international actors, namely with the UN but other international governmental and non-governmental organizations and transnational corporations are included as well. |
