| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce s názvem "Socialistická architektura a její místo v současné společnosti" se zabývá významem architektury období socialismu a dále jejím významem v současnosti V první části je charakterizována architektura mezi lety 1948 -- 1989 vztažená ke společensko-politickému vývoji. V druhé části je pak na příkladu obchodního domu Máj demonstrována funkčnost architektonických památek socialistické éry. Práce se zabývá také myšlenkou památkové ochrany moderních staveb. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis called "Socialist architecture and its place in present society" focuses on socialist architecture and its relevance today. In the first part it characterizes the architecture between 1948 - 1989 related to the socio-political development. In the second part the department store Máj is selected as a representative of socialist architecture. This example demonstrates functionality of the architectural heritage of the Socialist era. The work also deals with the idea of preservation of modern buildings. |
