| Abstract: | V této bakalářské práci komparuji vybrané aspekty politiky konzervativní premiérky Margaret Thatcherové (1979-1990) a labouristického premiéra Tonyho Blaira (1997-2007). Thatcherismus i New Labour jsou dva důležité fenomény ve vývoji Velké Británie ve druhé polovině 20. a na počátku 21. století. Předmětem srovnání je analýza fungování sociálního státu (Welfare State) a vztah k Evropské unii. V jednotlivých částech práce analyzuji stěžejní body hlavních politik obou premiérů v konkrétních oblastech Welfare State, v oblasti evropské integrace se práce zabývá záležitostmi, kterými se ve svém funkčním období premiéři zabývali nejvíce, a srovnává celkový postoj a vztah premiérů k Evropské unii. Podstatou práce je analyzovat mnohé podobnosti i četné rozdíly politik obou premiérů. |

| Abstract: | This thesis compares selected aspects of the policies of conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (1979-1990) and Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair (1997-2007). Thatcherism and New Labour are two important phenomena in the development of Great Britain in the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. The subject of comparison is functioning of the Welfare State and the relationship with the European Union. Individual chapters analyse the main points of the main policies of the two prime ministers in particular areas of the Welfare State, in the area of European integration, this work deals with matters which in his term prime ministers discussed the most, and compares the overall attitude and relationship with the European Union. The essence of work is to analyse and highlight the many similarities as well as many differences in policies of both prime ministers. |
