| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce je vystavěna na rozvedených poznatcích ekonomické a politologické teorie. Následuje studie vývoje předchůdců Evropského parlamentu do zavedení přímé volby. Práce analyzuje vývoj pravomocí, legitimitu a strukturu Evropského parlamentu po zavedení přímé volby, a to s důrazem na charakteristiky vypovídající o demokracii na evropské úrovni. K tomu přispívá jednoduchý ekonomicko-politologický model rozhodování parlamentu. V práci institucionální analýzou zkoumám vliv Evropského parlamentu na objektivní míru demokracie na evropské úrovni. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis is built upon theory of economics and politics. A study of development of the European Parliament's predecessors up till the introduction of direct election follows. Then there is an institutional analysis of the development of powers, legitimacy and structure of the European Parliament since the introduction of direct election. The analysis focuses on explanatory characteristics concerning democracy on the European level. A model of the effect of parliament's acts contributes. I examine the influence of the European Parliament on democracy on the European level. |
