Abstract: | The submitted text pursues 2006 and 2009 gas crises and their impact on EU energy policy formation. The characterization of individual actors of this international conflict and their role - Russian Federation as a supplier, Ukraine as a transit country and the European Union as a buyer, is necessary to understand the reasons and causes of these disputes over the natural gas. Today, it is considered to be a strategic raw material in the energy sector, any uncertainties of its supply are therefore perceived as a threat to national security. A brief summary of conflict points in their relations, concrete steps and measures to resolve the crisis and its consequences are important in order to trace the influences that saw through the formation of a new common EU policy. Energy policy is then the result of these conflicts and aims to develop a strategy for a competitive, sustainable and secure energy in Europe. |
