| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou povodní, které zasáhly Českou republiku v několika posledních letech, a dále popisem komerčního pojištění, které kryje důsledky škod vyvolaných živelnými událostmi. V první části se setkáme s charakteristikou přírodních katastrof obecně. Následující kapitoly se zaměřují na teoretické aspekty povodní a fungování protipovodňové ochrany. Další část analyzuje příčiny vzniku a důsledky povodní na území České republiky v letech 1997-2010. Poslední kapitola je věnována rozboru komerčního pojištění, jako nejvýznamnějšího nástroje pro zmírnění povodňových škod. |

| Abstract: | The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of floods which hit the Czech Republic during a few last years, and then it describes the commercial insurance which covers the consequences of damages from natural catastrophes. At first, there is the general development of natural disasters all over the world. Next parts include theoretical aspects of floods and functions of flood control. Then, there are mentioned main causes and consequences of floods which hit the Czech Republic from 1997 to 2010. Finally, commercial insurance is mentioned as the most important instrument which help people cover the damages caused by natural catastrophes, mainly floods. |
