| Abstract: | Tato práce se zabývá ochranou spotřebitele v Evropské unii se speciálním zaměřením na ochranu zdraví a bezpečnosti. Cílem práce je dokázat, že EU je schopna k této oblasti přispět nejen harmonizací a šířením již existujících norem a pravidel ochrany spotřebitele, ale že díky spolupráci svých členů zajistí i to, co by se samotným státům nepodařilo. První kapitola definuje spotřebitele, jeho ochranu a nastíní historický vývoj této problematiky ve světě. Druhá kapitola pojednává o ochraně spotřebitele v EU. Postupně je zmíněn její vývoj, podoba, tvorba a implementace spotřebitelské legislativy a aktuální problémy této oblasti. Poslední část je věnována zdraví a bezpečnosti konsumentů a prostředkům unie, které k jejich zajištění slouží. |

| Abstract: | This work deals with consumer protection in European Union with special focus on protection of health and safety. The aim of this work is to prove that EU is capable to contribute to this issue not only by harmonizing and spreading already existing standards and regulations of consumer protection, however, that by cooperation among its member states, it is able to achieve even those results which would be very hard or impossible for individual states to accomplish. In the first chapter, the terms consumer and its protection are defined. There is also the description of the history of this issue in the world. The second chapter concentrates on the consumer protection in EU, especially on the development, various forms and the implementation of its legislation. The biggest current problems of this area are also mentioned there. In the third chapter, health and safety of consumers are discussed, as well as, the means of EU which specialize in ensuring them. |
