Abstract: | Cílem této práce je poskytnout informace o nejnovějších trendech v hardwarových virtualizačních technologiích a Cloud computingu. |

Abstract: | The main objective of this work is to provide information on the newest trends in hardware virtualization technologies and Cloud computing. At first, the work provides information on the functioning principles of all types of virtualization technologies. Key terminology relating to virtualization technology is explained here. The main part of the work comprises practical testing of chosen virtualization technologies performance. Performance testing is done by means of benchmark applications that measure the performance of the most important system parameters. During the testing, virtualization technologies are compared according to the attained results. The result of the testing is a summary of performance overhead of individual virtualization technologies compared to physical server without a virtualization layer. The last part is focused on identification of main players on expanding Cloud service market, whose services present an alternative to purchasing one's own hardware. |
