| Abstract: | Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je diskutovat možnosti státu regulovat činnosti nadnárodních ropných společností a porovnat je v rámci rozvinutých a rozvojových zemí. Zaměřuje se také na samoregulaci ze strany těchto ropných korporací. První kapitola pojednává o nadnárodních společnostech obecně. Druhá kapitola je věnována Nigérii, zástupci rozvojových zemí. Obsahuje informace o ropném průmyslu země, rozsahu ropného znečištění a popisuje roli státu při regulaci ropných nadnárodních společností a také přístup těchto společností k samoregulaci. Ve třetí kapitole jsou uvedeny Spojené státy americké jako zástupce zemí rozvinutých. Tato kapitola se zabývá významem ropného průmyslu pro USA, ropným znečištěním a jeho důvody. Závěr této kapitoly je věnován roli ropných nadnárodních společností při znečištění a také přístupu federální vlády USA a jednotlivých států k ropnému znečištění na americkém území. |

| Abstract: | The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to discuss the possibilities of state to regulate the operations of multinational oil corporations and compare them in terms of developed and developing countries. It focuses also on self-regulation of multinational oil companies. The first chapter describes multinational corporations in general. The second chapter includes information about Nigeria, its oil industry, the extent of oil pollution, the role of state in the regulation of multinational oil companies and also about approach of these companies to self-regulation. The third chapter contains information about the USA, its oil industry and the extent of oil pollution. It also describes the approach of federal government of the USA and U.S. states to oil pollution. |
