| Abstract: | Kvalitní výzkum a vývoj je v dnešním globalizujícím se světě stále významnějším předpokladem konkurenceschopného státu. Moderní komunikační technologie otevírají výzkumníkům nové možnosti jednodušší, levnější a efektivnější spolupráce na dálku. Cílem této práce je poskytnout čtenáři náhled na současný stav vědy a výzkumu v EU a zjistit jak jsou nové komunikační technologie využívány na úrovni EU a členských států. Virtualitu lze chápat jako jakýkoliv druh komunikace, zprostředkovávanou počítači přes informační sítě. První kapitola předkládá obecnou charakteristiku výzkumu a vývoje a ukazuje vliv virtuality ve vědě a výzkumu. Obsahem druhé kapitoly je popis vývoje vědy a výzkumu v EU, současných trendů, institucí a programů a analýza využití virtuality ve vědě a výzkumu v EU. Třetí kapitola se obdobně soustřeďuje na stav virtuality, vědy a výzkumu, ale na úrovni národních států, konkrétně České republiky. |

| Abstract: | In today's globalizing world high-quality research and development is becoming an even more significant requirement for a competitive country. Modern communication technologies open up new possibilities of a simpler, cheaper and more effective long-distance cooperation between researchers. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide insight into the current state of scientific research in the EU and determine, how the new communication technologies are used on the level of the EU and its member states. Virtuality can be understood as any type of communication mediated by computers over information networks. The first chapter presents general characteristics of scientific research and shows how virtuality influences it. The second chapter describes the development of scientific research, current trends, institutions and programs in the EU and analyses the application of virtuality in scientific research in the EU. Similarly, the last chapter focuses on the state of virtuality and scientific research , but on the level of national states, specifically the Czech Republic. |
