| Abstract: | Práce se zabývá hospodářskými problémy Portugalska v letech 2007 až 2011 a možnostmi jejich řešení. První kapitola zachycuje vývoj portugalské ekonomiky na počátku nového tisíciletí. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na dopady světové finanční a hospodářské krize na zemi a její veřejný dluh. V poslední kapitole jsou popsány zásadní hospodářské problémy, které v současnosti Portugalsko nejvíce trápí. Patří mezi ně problémy na trhu práce, nízká konkurenceschopnost a potíže se splácením veřejného dluhu. |

| Abstract: | This thesis deals with the fundamental economic problems of Portugal between 2007 and 2011 and their possible solutions. The first chapter shows the development of Portuguese economy at the beginning of the new millenium. The second chapter focuses on the impact of the global financial and economic crisis on the country and its public debt. The last chapter describes the current fundamental economic problems that trouble Portugal the most. These include problems on the labour market, low competitiveness and problems with public debt repayment. |
