| Abstract: | Cíl bakalářské práce spočívá v podání uceleného obrazu o sčítání lidu v USA. Smyslem je tedy zaměření se na důvody jeho pořádání, dále na proces, historii a výsledky. Jednotlivé kapitoly mají teoretický charakter. První kapitola se zabývá důvody sčítání. S těmi úzce souvisí vznik samotného sčítání, jehož stručný přehled je popsán v další kapitole. Po historii navazuje vysvětlení, jak je sčítání realizováno v současné době. Nejdříve je popsána metoda sčítání, tj. jakým způsobem sčítání probíhá a další odstavce si kladou za cíl upřesnit, koho všeho se týká. Další část už poté představuje samotný postup sběru dat. Práce se zaobírá i sčítacím dotazníkem a krátce zmiňuje reklamní kampaň. Poslední kapitola je věnována hlavním výsledkům, které sčítání přineslo. |

| Abstract: | The main objective of this thesis is to make a clear picture about the U.S. Census. The purpose is in focusing on its reasons, process, history and results. The chapters have a theoretical character. The first chapter deals with the reasons of the census. These are closely connected with the creation of the census, so the second chapter is about the census history. After that, the proces of the current census is desribed. First the method, that means, how the census is realized and then who is involved. The next part is about the data collection. The thesis also include informations about the census form and the paid campaign. The last chapter includes the main results of the census. |
