| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá veřejnými knihovnami jako kulturními a vzdělávacími institucemi, které prošly během 20. století mimořádnými proměnami své funkce, včetně jejího legislativního zakotvení. Současně se měnila také architektonická podoba knihoven. V současné době knihovny plní mimo své primární úlohy (uchovávání a zpřístupňování dokumentů) také množství doplňkových funkcí, moderní knihovnické budovy se proto stávají multifunkčními kulturními a společenskými centry s významem pro celé místo či region. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na město Hradec Králové. To dlouhodobě vyniká vysokou hladinou enkulturace obyvatel, což úzce souvisí i s úrovní zdejších knihovnických služeb. Práce popisuje probíhající rekonstrukci bývalé továrny Vertex v Hradci Králové na novou budovu městské knihovny -- Centrum celoživotního vzdělávání. |

| Abstract: | This Bachelor's Thesis deals with public libraries as cultural and educational institutions that underwent extensive changes in the 20th century as far as their functions are concerned, including their legislative status. At the same time, the architectural form of libraries changed. At present, libraries fulfil their essential roles (storage and disclosure documents) as well as a number of additional functions. Therefore, modern library buildings become multifunctional cultural and social centres of importance for whole communities and catchment areas. The practical part of the Thesis is focused on the city of Hradec Kralove. It excels in a long-term and high-level population enculturation which is closely connected with the high level of local library services. This paper describes the ongoing reconstruction of the former Vertex factory in Hradec Kralove into a new city library building, i.e. The Lifelong Learning Centre. |
