| Abstract: | Práce se věnuje vývoji železniční infrastruktury v Habsburské monarchii v druhé polovině 19. století s ohledem na opakující se intervencionistické tendence státu v této oblasti. Důraz je věnován spontánnímu budování místních drah, jejichž výzkum je prováděn na základě dostupných archivních materiálů. Do práce je zahrnuta i analýza přístupu státu k budování železnic, která zohledňuje aktuální stav legislativy a charakteristiky tehdejšího podnikatelského prostředí. Práce srovnává aktivitu soukromých společností (založeno na ziskové kalkulaci) i aktivitu státu a samosprávy (založenou na "strategických" zájmech, např. vojenských, ekonomických, rozvojových). Poměr těchto aktivit, ale i jejich intenzitu, ovlivňovala také fáze hospodářského cyklu a její politické a ekonomické důvody. Práce se dotýká i problému veřejných statků. |

| Abstract: | The thesis is based on the development of the rail infrastructure in the Habsburg monarchy in the second half of the 19th century with regard to repetitive interventionist tendencies of the state in this area. Particular emphasis will be accentuated on spontaneous building local railways, the research uses available archival materials. Thesis includes an analysis of the state's approach to the construction of railways, which reflects the contemporary legislation and characteristics of the business environment. The thesis compares the activities of private companies (based on the profit calculation) and the activities of the state and local authorities (based on strategic targets: military, economic, or development objectives). The ratio of these activities, but also their intensity, was affected also by the phase of economic cycle and this cycle had its political and economic roots. The work also concerns the problem of public goods. |
