| Abstract: | Cílem této bakalářské práce je empiricky testovat teorii minimaxu pomocí reálných dat z tenisových utkání. Práce vychází z předpokladu, že podání je pro hráče ve hře stěžejním faktorem a ovlivňuje následnou délku výměny. Z těchto předpokladů je vyvozena hypotéza, že podávající hráč hraje v souladu s teorií minimaxu tím více, čím kratší jsou délky výměn následujících po podání. Tato hypotéza je nejprve ověřena prostřednictvím regresní analýzy, poté pro posílení platnosti jejích výsledků ještě pomocí Pearsonova chí-kvadrát testu o rovnosti dvou distribucí. Na základě obou metod je tato hypotéza potvrzena. |

| Abstract: | The objective of the thesis is to test empirically the Minimax Theorem with the help of real data from tennis matches. The thesis is based on the assumption that the serve is the crucial factor of a game for a player and that it influences the length of the following exchange. Based on these assumptions a hypothesis is deduced stating that according to the minimax hypothesis, a server plays the more, the shorter the exchanges following serve are. The hypothesis is first verified by a regression analysis and then, to strengthen the validity of its results, with the help of the Pearson's chi-square goodness-of-fit test of equality of two distributions. The hypothesis is finally confirmed based on these two methods. |
