| Abstract: | Práce analyzuje motivy, které vedly Lotyšsko k zavedení euro, v době, kdy se EMU nacházela v hluboké krizi. Okrajově se zabývá udržitelností EMU a především jsou analyzovány pozitiva a rizika zavedení eura v Lotyšsku z pohledu ostatních členů eurozóny a z pohledu Lotyšska samotného. |

| Abstract: | In this thesis are analyzed motives that led Latvia to adopt euro in a period of great recession. Positives and risks of adhesion to the Eurozone are analyzed from the point of view of Latvia as well as from the point of view of other member states. The topic of sustainability of EMU is marginally adressed as well. |
