| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou Číny a Spojených států amerických z pohledu jejich možného souboje na poli světové hegemonie. Aby se stát mohl považovat za hegemona, musí splňovat kombinaci několika atributů. Po hospodářské stránce je jeho postavení dáno především silným vnitřním trhem a množstvím importů, které je schopný vygenerovat. To je doplněné rozvinutostí finančního trhu a postavením jeho národní měny také jako měny světové. Institucionální rámec hegemonie shrnuje výsadní postavení jeho armády a definuje hegemona jako světové centrum inovací a technologického pokroku. |

| Abstract: | The thesis deals with comparing China and United States in terms of their potential hegemonic status. A country can be considered as a hegemonic country only if it fulfills various attributes. Its economic leadership is defined by consistency of inner market and by generated imports. Those are supported by advanced financial market and national currency, which is also considered as a world currency. Institutional scope is summarized by privileged position of its army and it defines hegemonic country as a center of innovation and technological progress. |
