| Abstract: | Zatímco v západních demokraciích je výzkum vlivu internetu na občanskou a politickou participaci rozšířen, v českém prostředí je tomuto médiu věnována pozornost pouze v souvislosti s volební participací. Ovšem výzkum vlivu internetu na občanskou a politickou participaci z individuální úrovně zde zatím chybí. Na základě vlastního výzkumu byla provedena regresní analýza základních faktorů a internetových aktivit a jejich dopad na online a offline politickou participaci. Výsledky analýzy poukazují na nízký dopad internetu na úroveň politické participace, resp. na jeho schopnost aktivizovat nové jedince. Internet tedy není všelékem pro občanskou a politickou participaci, ovšem může být pro zvýšení úrovně participace vhodným nástrojem. |

| Abstract: | While in Western democracies the study of the impact of Internet on civic and political participation is very popular, in the Czech Republic this type of study is still at the beginning. It is merely focused on the impact of Internet on voter turnout and political campaigning. However the study of the impact of the Internet on civic and political participation from the indivdual level is still missing. Because of that te aim of this study is to analyze the impact of Internet use on political and civic participation. Based on my research I analyzed the internet activities and main factors that influence participation. The results of this study show that Internet is not going to be a panacea for political participation. |
